Jumpstart Your IG Plan
This webinar series is designed to provide guidance to HIM professionals to jumpstart their IG plan within their organization. The initial webinar will be an overview of basic Information Governance (IG) concepts and a large healthcare system will provide an overview of their current IG plan and progress.
Between webinars, participants will have assigned homework such as performing a gap analysis, development of an IG strategy and identifying IG projects. The webinar series will run for six months and the final five months will give participants the opportunity to share successful IG implementation examples, learn from peers and resolve barriers to current IG strategy issues.
Dependent upon total number of participants and breakdown of participants by size or type of healthcare organization employer, internal groups will be assigned starting with webinar two and at least two participants are expected to provide case studies based on completion of homework assignments between each webinar. Individual or group presentations are acceptable.
- Understand the basics of IG
- Complete a basic IG gap analysis for your organization
- Identify 1-3 IG projects to successfully implement at your organization
- Present your successful IG implementation to your peer group and prepare to present to your organization’s C-Suite
- Develop a network of HIM professionals to support you as you continue your IG journey

Each webinar will be held at 11 AM – 12 PM, ET and is approved for 1 CEU – Management Development

Bonnie Cassidy, MPA, RHIA, FAHIMA, FHIMSS
Bonnie is a Principal in Advisory Services for nThrive, formerly the Vice President of Consulting for MedAssets-Precyse focusing her efforts on advancing Clinical Documentation Integrity, Risk Adjusted Reimbursement and Health Information Governance.
Bonnie is a Past President of AHIMA having served as the 2011 Chairman of the Board of Directors, Past Chair of CAHIIM, is a Fellow of AHIMA, and is an AHIMA Academy ICD-10-CM/PCS Certificate Holder & ICD-10 Ambassador. Ms. Cassidy is a Fellow of HIMSS and an advanced member of HFMA.
Bonnie was honored to be the recipient of the 2014 Distinguished Member Triumph Award from AHIMA and the 2015 Distinguished Member Award from the Georgia Health Information Management Association. Bonnie is also a recipient of the Distinguished Member Award from the Ohio Health Information Management Association.
Prior to joining nThrive, Bonnie served as an executive with Nuance, QuadraMed, the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT), Price Waterhouse, Ernst & Young, and was an HIM Administrator at two major teaching hospitals including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Beth Kost Woodrow, MBA, RHIA
Beth Kost currently serves as Senior Vice President of Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer for WellStar Health System where she is responsible for enterprise health information management, Information security, privacy compliance, coding, documentation improvement and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Kost is a former Chief Operating Officer, Compliance Officer and Privacy Officer of one of the largest Health Information Management services and outsourcing firms in the United States and has held national leadership positions in healthcare practices within several international accounting firms.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s degree in business administration from DeVry University, Keller Graduate School of Management.
Ralph Morrison, RHIA, CPC
Ralph is the Executive Director for the NC, SC, GA and LA Health Information Management Associations.
Ralph has over 30 years of healthcare experience and assisted in compiling the original version of the GHIMA Legal Handbook and a recent update to the NCHIMA Legal Manual and assisted AHIMA with Code of Ethics and Financial Toolkit updates for component state associations. Prior to moving to professional nonprofit leadership, he was sole proprietor of Morrison Consulting providing interim management, electronic record installation and coding quality audits to large healthcare systems across the United States. He was also the first program director and launched the HIMT program at Athens Technical College. Currently, Ralph serves on the AHIMA Nominating Committee, and has served as chair of the AHIMA convention program committee.
