Lee Williams has over 15 years health information management (HIM) experience as a coding director, auditor, educator, trainer, practice manager, and mentor. Williams is Director of Coding at GA Cancer Specialists affiliated w/Northside Hospital Cancer Institute and Healthcare Management Consultant for Karna, LLC providing coding leadership and oversight on programs sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Center for Health Statistics, the U.S. Consumer and Product Safety Commission, and Industrial Economics, Inc.
She has extensive experience in regulatory compliance, CDI, and risk management. Williams is a frequent speaker and is published at the national level. She serves as AAPC’s National Advisory Board Secretary 2015-2018, is founder and current president of the Covington, Georgia local chapter and also serves as GHIMA’s 2018-19 Coding Roundtable Chair.
Felicia A. Thomas, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CPC-I, CIC, CCDS
Felicia Thomas is a healthcare professional with over 20 years experience. She has worked on both the provider and payor side of healthcare. She is currently working in Audit and Compliance and truly believes that you need to audit thru the lens of education. Felicia is very active in her volunteer duties with AHIMA, having worked on the subgroups to updating the Standards of Ethical Coding, the ICD-10 yearly updates as well as participating in the Practice Council for Clinical Terminology and Classification. Most recently Felicia has started the Creative Healthcare Concepts – Inpatient Boot Camp, where she is training HIM professionals in the foundations and nuances of Inpatient coding and preparing them for certification.
