How Do I Join the Georgia Community
of Practice (CoP)?
Go to AHIMA
and select “Members Only,” “Communities of
Practice”. Your
member ID number is your user name and your last name is your password
(unless you've changed it). Once you've logged on to the AHIMA CoP,
here are some tips to get you started:
1.
Update
your AHIMA member profile. Select "Update Profile" at
the top screen. Please make sure that you
have your correct e-mail address in the member profile. GHIMA uses
this e-mail address to send you important e-mail messages.
2. Join the Georgia community.
Select "Join/Visit Communities.” Go to the "Geographic:
Georgia" community. Check the "Join" box to the right
of the Georgia community. Then select "Join Communities" at
the bottom of the screen.
3. Congratulations! You
are now a member of the Georgia CoP! Be sure to set your notifications
so you will know when something new has been posted in the CoP. For
instructions on setting up notifications, go to the Georgia community
and click on the "Notification" link in the top gold bar.
If you have any questions, please contact
Andrea
Koppelmann.
Can I Be Notified
When Something New Has Occurred in the Georgia CoP?
Yes, if you have provided
a valid Internet e-mail address in your AHIMA member profile, you can
set up a community notification for the Georgia community. You can then
have the site e-mail you daily, weekly, or immediately, when activity
has occurred on the site. When activity has occurred on the site, you
will receive an e-mail to your Internet e-mail address with details of
the changes. For instructions on setting up notifications, go to the
Georgia community and click on the "Notification" link
in the top gold bar.
How Does My Community
Mailbox Work?
This mailbox is available
to you throughout any of the communities you join and on your personal
page. The mailbox is for CoP messages from other members. Mail can be
sent and received between members in this mailbox without having to remember
any other outside email addresses. Facilitators will also send messages
to you in this mailbox about upcoming events, newly posted items and
updated features of the CoP. You can even set up an address book for
names of people that you exchange messages with frequently. You can also
use the Preferences feature (select the "mail" icon while in
the community) to notify yourself via your external mail when you have
mail in your CoP mailbox. You can also set an out-of-office notification
too.
