The 2008 GHIMA Annual Meeting and Exhibits will be held this year at the Cobb Galleria Center in Atlanta on August 20 – 22, 2008.

The host hotel is the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. 

The 2008 Annual Meeting and Exhibits will address today’s important Health Information Management topics, offering approximately 18 Continuing Educational Hours. 

Three educational tracks will be offered.  1) Coding Track 2) e-HIM 3) Management Track.

The Joy of the Job… Keys to Find More Fulfillment in your Work

OK, you're really busy. While you are dutifully doing your job, do you ever get a sense that you are disconnected from the purpose of your work? Do you sometimes find that your work lacks fun and enjoyment? By adopting a humorous and fun approach, the Joy of the Job inspires professionals to be focused and productive by nourishing the meaning, fun, and joy of their work.

Ms. Urquhart has been presenting her keynote addresses around the world for over 10 years. She is passionate about spreading the message of fun, and meaningful work. Annually she addresses over 50 organizations and associations, and is a top motivational keynote speaker. Jody is author of the book All Work & No SAY and writes a syndicated column called the Joy of Work.


Target Audience

All HIM professionals representing HIM management, coding, transcription, and Privacy and Security Officers, professionals in all health care settings such as: hospitals, consulting firms, ambulatory care centers, extended care facilities; hospices, clinics, insurance companies, HMO’s, government agencies and physicians offices, students in accredited HIA, HIT and coding programs


Annual Meeting Registration

The full registration fee includes admission to the General Sessions, educational tracks, Meet and Greet Reception, Wednesday afternoon (5:00 PM – 6:00 PM), Thursday Business Luncheon/Installation of Officers, daily entrance to the Exhibit Hall, and President’s Reception (Thursday evening 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM).

All education sessions, exhibits and social events will be held at the Cobb Galleria Center.  Hotel reservations are to be made through the Renaissance Waverly Hotel.   Reservations must be made by July 22, 2008 to obtain the discounted room rate.

Early Meeting Registration Deadline:   July 8, 2008


Cancellation Fees

A $25.00 cancellation fee will be retained for cancellation received prior to August 1, 2008.  Cancellations must be in writing: GHIMA Central Office 4249 Meadow, Marietta, GA  30066 or by email: centraloffice@ghima.org.                                                                 

The entire registration fee will be retained for cancellation received after August 1, 2008.
